Prospect Rundown: West Coast League
An explosive offense carried the Bend Elks to the best record (35-16) in the West Coast League this summer, and Bend’s bats also bashed their way through the playoffs to help the Elks earn their first championship. Bend scored 43 runs in four playoff games and throttled Kelowna in a two-game sweep of the championship series, 15-9 and 10-4. During the regular season, the Elks led the WCL by wide margins in runs, doubles, batting (.306) and slugging (.429). The key for Bend was the depth of its lineup and the consistent offensive approaches found throughout its order.
