Etheridge: Hosts And Conference Strength

With a dearth of host contenders as we enter the final four weeks of play, there is an obvious tendency to want to look beyond the normal cast of characters. In our D1Baseball Committee Podcast earlier this week, our group contemplated several clubs for the final spot. There was a long deliberation about Creighton but in the end we opted for Vanderbilt for the 16th host spot. The Commodores’ inclusion gave the SEC a sixth host spot. When you add in five ACC hosts, two conferences are monopolizing 11 of the 16 spots.
