COLUMBIA, S.C. — After the Clemson celebration and the postgame handshake between the Tigers and South Carolina, a short on-field ceremony recognized the series MVPs from both teams. For South Carolina, Jack Wynkoop. For Clemson, Brody Koerner.

Koerner accepted the Bob Bradley Award as Clemson’s series MVP, posed for some photos near home plate, then started to walk back toward his teammates huddled in front of the third-base dugout. He paused halfway there, seemingly in a daze. Clemson coach Jack Leggett urged him forward—“Keep walking, Brody!” One foot in front of the other, one step at a time.
