OMAHA — If you didn’t know any better, you might have thought Virginia was the team trying to run through the losers’ bracket Friday, gambling with a starting pitcher who hadn’t appeared in a game in two months in order to rescue a depleted pitching staff. You might have thought Florida was sitting pretty in the winners’ bracket, bringing its ace back on nearly full rest, and feasting on Virginia’s overmatched arms.
