OMAHA — Like legendary boxer Joe Frazier, Vanderbilt righthander Carson Fulmer wasn’t going to back down Monday night in the CWS Finals opener against Virginia.

As Fulmer, the eighth overall pick in the MLB draft to the Chicago White Sox, and one of the most storied pitchers in Vanderbilt history went to bed Sunday night, he began to feel under the weather.
