Fitt: USC Returns To National Stage
LOS ANGELES — There’s a different energy around Dedeaux Field these days. The fact that there’s any energy at all is a change from the last decade, when Southern California’s home games drew more tumbleweeds than fans.
USC’s history is loaded with glory days, but its 12 national championships feel like ancient history for a program that hasn’t even made a regional since 2005, when Ian Kennedy and Jeff Clement and Mike Gillespie led the Trojans to a super regional.
